AS400 Programmer
Vendor Screening Criteria
The vendor is required to filter candidates based on the following criteria:
- The staff must be willing to work full-time on-site (WFO).
- The staff must be willing to work on-site at client offices located in Gandaria and Kuningan.
- The staff must be willing to work overtime when required to meet project targets, including on both weekdays and weekends.
- The staff must have a good command of English, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to read and understand English documents.
- The staff must be willing to work under a contract/outsourced employment arrangement.
- The staff must be willing to undergo periodic performance evaluations.
- The staff must be able to work effectively in a team, demonstrate clear and good communication skills, and have a proactive attitude rather than being passive or overly reserved.
Educational Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written, are required to communicate with local, regional, and head office teams.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an AS400 Programmer for the mid-level position.
- More than 5 years of experience for the senior-level position.
- Experience in system integration or system enhancement projects is a plus.
- Experience in software development projects within the banking industry is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain application programs based on system designs and specifications provided by the System Analyst.
- Perform coding, debugging, and unit testing to ensure program accuracy and stability.
- Collaborate with System Analysts, Business Analysts, and Quality Control teams to clarify requirements and resolve system defects/issues.
- Ensure that developed programs comply with coding standards, security policies, and system performance requirements.
- Conduct impact analysis for system changes.
- Support system integration activities, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including program specifications and code documentation.
- Handle and resolve defects and system issues during both the development and post-implementation stages.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in RPG programming language.
- Strong experience in AS400 (IBM iSeries) development and operations.
- Good understanding of database concepts, particularly DB2/SQL.
- Experience in system integration and interface handling.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with API integration, particularly REST and SOAP.
Other Knowledge and Competencies
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong ability in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Good understanding of system change impact analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Good and structured technical documentation skills.
