Drools / Business Rules Developer

JOB DESCRIPTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain configurable business rules using Drools.
  • Translate HR policies and functional requirements into decision logic and rule sets.
  • Develop DRL rules, decision tables, validations, calculations, and execution flows.
  • Integrate Drools with backend services and HR platform components.
  • Analyze rule dependencies, conflicts, priorities, and execution performance.
  • Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of business rules.
  • Maintain rule documentation, versioning, governance, and requirement traceability.
  • Collaborate with BPA, backend developers, architects, and QA

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-4 years of software development experience, preferably involving business rule engines.
  • Hands-on experience with Drools, DRL, Decision Tables, or DMN.
  • Strong understanding of business rule management and decision logic.
  • Experience integrating rule engines with REST APIs or backend applications.
  • Good Java knowledge is highly preferable due to the Drools ecosystem.
  • Familiar with Git, testing, debugging, Agile/Scrum, and JIRA.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, collaboration, and English skills
